Abreu is one of the major staffed camps in the southern section of Philmont. The program is set around a recreation of a New Mexican homestead from 1912. Crews can learn about the history of the region, the Abreu family, and life in the time period. Crews camping here will also enjoy a Mexican dinner and participate in adobe brick making, animal care, and other aspects of homestead life.
The camp has purified water, showers, and a cantina.
